The QuickCast system was designed to remotely deploy a sound

velocity profiler (SVP) from an unmanned vessel while surveying. Mounted on the front of the vessel, the system uses a pulley wheel to lower the instrument into the water. The winch comes spooled with enough line to reach 30 m and yields a margin of error of only 0.5% (15 cm) at max depth. While it can let out up to 1.5 m/s of line, the recommended payout speed is 30 cm/s to ensure a controlled cast and prevent tangling of the line. The IP69K encoder can accommodate changing conditions. It is viewed on the onboard PC via integrated Seafloor software, and can switch from meters to feet with a push of a button. Once the SVP resurfaces, data is communicated to your PC or phone via bluetooth. For best results and proven compatability, Seafloor recommends the Valeport SWiFT SVP.
